
SIAL Sound Studios: Research Through Design & Performance
The SIAL Sound Studios are a multi-disciplinary facility, incorporating a wide range of investigations into auditory spatial awreness through the vehicles of Spatial Sound Performance and Installation, Urban Soundscape Research and Design, and Acoustic Design.
The Studios are housed within the Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory (SIAL), School of Architecture and Design, RMIT University (Melbourne Australia) and provide a combination of undergraduate design studios and electives and postgraduate research supervision, as well as contract and government funded research projects. Public and industry engagement is also achieved through numerous conference presentations, public lectures and national/international broadcasts.
